Measurements for a Convention Swap
Hi Stampers,
Aren't these the cutest little purses? I got all three of them as a swap this year at convention!! The red one in the back came from Joanna Ellis-Valenzuela (she said that the original idea came from France Martin). The white one in the front came from Linda Levenille. And the blue one in the back came from Carrie McCoy. Thank you ladies I loved the swaps!! Carrie's is held together by brads only, no adhesive. She did that so I could take it apart to get all the measurements to make it myself, so that is
what I did and now I would like to share them with you!!
Here is what the inside looks like. Linda's used 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (pg. 195 of the IB&C, Idea Book and Catalog) for the handle on her purse. The handles are about 7" long.
Here I am pointing to the top edge of the purse. Carrie even stamped little butterflies from the Clearly for You stamp set (pg. 136 IB&C) on hers. I hope you can see them, cause they are cute. This piece of card stock is 1" x 3 1/2" folded in half, which makes it 1/2" x 3 1/2". You can also see how she held her purse together with the brands.
Here are the measurement. Start with a 6" x 6" piece of DSP (Designer Series Paper pg. 183-186 IB&C). Score one side at 2 1/2" and the side at 1 1/4". Then to make the sides of the purse, measure down 1 1/4" and score diagonal to where the two score lines meet. Then back up to the center. The clasp on the top is made from punches. Joanne used the Four Frames stamp set (pg. 141, IB&C) with the Decorative Label punch (pg. 209, IB&C). I hope you can see that in the first picture. Just fold over the label and add some velcro.
I plan to make purses for my kids' teachers. I will put a little chocolate in there. Just a little back to school treat/bride, I want my kids to get good grades (ha ha just joking).
Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial.
Have fun stamping!!

Thanks Sara for being a great cousin!!
So while I was in Utah at Stampin' Up! convention, my husband needed to go with my son to a national wrestling tournament in Fargo, North Dakota. Which would leave my two girls home alone. Now considering they are 14 and 11 years old, I didn't feel quite comfortable with that. So who came to my rescue, but my niece Sara. Here is what I m sending Sara as a way to thank her. I had a lot of fun decorating the box with our new in-colors. I love the way Stampin Up's colors go together so nicely. I know Sara will appreciate this gift, but who wouldn't love to find something hand decorated and made in their mailbox. Take some time to make your friends' day by sending them a handmade card!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!

My Version of the Convention Card
Hi Stampers,
I wanted to share my version of the card I posted a few days ago. I was showing Phoebe (my best friend and fellow stamper) and she suggested I do the card in purple, her favorite color. So here it is:
I really like the original red tulip, but like the purple one too. I would love to hear what you think, leave a comment below!!
Until next time,

More ideas from Stampin Up! Convention 2011
How simple, but elegant is this card? Just another way to use the Blossom Petal Builder punch (pg 213 of the IB&C) and the coordinating stamp set Build a Blossom (pg 112 IB&C). I know all of my friends would love to receive a card like this! It will definitely be one of the cards we make at a FMN Card Class!! My next class is August 20th. I have several techniques and ideas planned at the class to help you with your card making and scrapbooking!! This card and many more will be displayed at my "Swap Gallery" (see below for details).
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Convention 2011
Hi Stampers,
Just wanted to share this card with you, it was one of my many fabulous swaps that I received at convention this year. It was made by Cheri Stewart from Newark, DE. Thanks Cheri...LOVE IT!! She used the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die (IB&C pg 221) for the Real Red rick-rack. The rhinestone (jewels pg 198) in the middle of the heart (small heart punch, pg 210) adds a finishing touch. Watch the mail, I will be sending out 4th of July cards next year!
I had so much fun swapping, it is one of the many things I love about convention!! I have lots more swaps and other treasures from Convention that I want to post, so keep coming back. If you want to see all of my swaps, just attend my Swap Gallery, July 30th. You can see details below.

Hi Stampers,
I wanted to share a really cute card with you today. It's one of the 5 cards we will be making at my next class. Saturday, June 18th. I got it from Jackie Topa's blog. I just love this card and it wasn't hard to make nor did it take very long. I used Old Olive satin ribbon (one of the items on the retiring accessories list) for the tie. So don't tell my dad, but he will be getting one in the mail. Love you Dad!!
